Hidden gem on Polk Street! All of the dishes we ordered were amazing and the fish quality was very fresh. The food came out relatively quickly and the service was decent. The highlight of our meal was the ginger creme brûlée! If you haven't had this before -- a must try! The restaurant is a nice place for date night but runs on the smaller side. It's probably not the best choice for large groups or I'd recommended coming earlier to snag a table. Overall, would come again!

Amazing service here! The food is also really good! Not pictured is the Hamachi truffle, which is amazing! We got the eight piece omakase set, super good but some pieces had a ton of wasabi in it.

My boyfriend and I always have to find a good sushi place for our date nights. I haven't lived in SF for that long and our friend recommended Nara as his go to spot for a good sushi dinner. We're so happy we went here because the food was delicious!! We ordered everything we'd typically get at other sushi spots. Here are my ratings: Garlic and Parsley Edamame, 9/10 - I haven't seen this combination of seasonings on edamame before, and I think it perfectly complemented the rest of our food. Not too strong but not too plain. Was the perfect appetizer to get me hungry for our dinner. Loco Crunchy Roll, 8/10 - my boyfriend would probably rate this as a 10/10 but I liked the other roll a lot more haha :D the soft shell crab was yummy Flora Train Roll, 9/10 - yum yum this was super fresh and not spicy for me but I loved the color of the pepper garnish. Agedashi Tofu, 10/10 - we both agreed that this is the best Agedashi tofu we've ever had. We usually order this at izakayas or other sushi spots but we loved the size of the tofu since that meant more surface area for a crispy bite. Hamachi Truffle, 9/10 - bit the best hamachi truffle I've ever had. My go to spot back home has the #1 spot for me BUT this is a close second. Honestly I'm a sucker for anything with fried onion/shallot/garlic and jalapeños. The service was also good. Our server was nice and was prompt to help us order more food but didn't bother us too much since we were on a date. Will come again!

Nice casual spot for sushi in the city! We came early and they had happy hour with delicious hand rolls which were really good. My favorite was the sake and hotate handrolls. They also have a really good selection of fish. The toro, chu toro was one of my favorites as it was so fresh and melts in your mouth. They also have specials with fish from Japan fish market.

A very solid sushi spot in San Francisco. My friend and I came here around 8 PM on a Saturday and the restaurant was super packed. We were immediately seated at the bar and started off our meal by ordering the Spicy Karaage. I thought the flavor was just ok and think I would prefer the traditional karaage and pairing it with the traditional aioli. We split the Jessica Alba and Loco Crunchy rolls both were quite good. The fish tasted very fresh and was a fair portion for its price. The Miso Zuke Sake Kama was a great deal for its price and was delicious, the ponzu sauce that came with it was not too overbearing. The service was pretty standard and I think I will want to come back and try their happy hour, but it is a great spot when you are craving sushi!

Came here multiple times but this time the menus looked different. The hand rolls use to be huge. It seems the trend caught on here. Handroll happy hour price not much different than others. Kind of pricey. But still delicious.

Nara is one of my favorite sushi spots in the city! We made a same-day reservation on Yelp around noon for later that Friday night and we were seated as soon as we arrived. The restaurant was full and we saw people waiting outside so I was thankful we thought ahead. We tried four rolls - Sake Bomb, Loco Crunchy, Cable Car, and Floral Paradise. My absolute favorite was the Sake Bomb - so delicious and flavorful!! The Cable Car and Loco Crunchy were also very flavorful and I enjoyed the softshell crab especially. The Floral Train wasn't my favorite but I was glad we ordered it since it was a little plainer and complemented the other rolls well! Our server was super nice and was helpful with our questions about the drink menu. The sake types he recommended to us fit our preferences perfectly and really made the night!

Came here on a Wednesday for a bite after the gym. Sad that I missed happy hour by 5 minutes - the handrolls looked amazing. Got seated immediately as I was a party of 1, and food took about 5-10 minutes to come out since it was pretty busy. The roll was delicious and I was pretty full but I was craving some nigiri too. It gets a little loud and I noticed there's 2 community style tables where parties of 3 could potentially be sat together. Will be coming back to satisfy my next sushi craving!

I think I just found my new fave spot! We got the 14 piece omakase along with some others that we wanted to try and it was all so delicious. The fish was so fresh and the presentation was so nice. We arrived 6:30pm on Saturday and it was around the time it started getting packed. The service was great the entire time and they were always checking in on us. I can't wait to come back here and try more items on the menu! Highly recommend!
